Lots of green at the Oscars: celebrity chef Puck focuses on vegetables and organic food
For the 26th time, celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck took care of the physical well-being of the actors, directors, filmmakers and press representatives in attendance.
The Austrian-born chef attaches great importance to freshness and taste, both in the selection of ingredients and in the composition of his menus. At the same time, however, he did not lose sight of the friends of traditional meat-based cuisine. A calculation that worked out in every respect.

Vegan dishes are all the rage. Especially in the USA. It is therefore hardly surprising that stars and starlets are consciously looking in this direction and trying to do something good for their stressed bodies by giving up animal products. Celebrity chef Puck’s decision to use many organic products for his menus at this year’s Oscars is therefore understandable.
Puck hit the nerve of the times and was able to fulfill the wishes, preferences and needs of his guests in the best possible way. Consequently, the menus featured numerous dishes with roasted vegetables, risotto and other vegan side dishes such as cauliflower puree without butter and cream.
In a press conference held in advance, Wolfgang Puck pointed out in response to a question from US Weekly that up to 70 percent of the dishes on offer are vegan. At the same time, the prudent chef emphasized that some of the menus could of course be modified to include meat on request. In this way, lovers of classic cuisine and friends of traditional eating habits would also get their money’s worth.
No shortage of fish and meat
None of the 1,500 or so guests at this year’s Oscars had to worry about being confronted exclusively with plant-based dishes. In fact, the menus also featured delicious meat and fish dishes. A fact that should have particularly pleased those visitors who tend to dislike organic food and grain products.
For them, for example, there was fine wild salmon and Wagyu beef from Japan. So if you didn’t fancy vegan noodles or sweet potato tempura, you could also feast to your heart’s content and really enjoy yourself once again.
A very special delicacy in the “non-veg area” was Wolfgang Puck’s baked chicken menu from Austria, a chicken marinated in buttermilk, which is first fried until crispy on all sides using honey and then served on waffles with maple syrup.
Mini dishes very popular
It wasn’t just the great things from celebrity chef Puck’s kitchen that impressed his guests. In fact, the smaller delicacies such as mini hamburgers or the“Chicken Pot Pie” meat pie were also met with great enthusiasm by the hungry actors, Oscar nominees and award winners.
The evening ended with the realization that good food is still an integral part of successful celebrations – and that Wolfgang Puck once again made a decisive contribution to this.
